The DataWeb Africa portal is an important hub for technology enthusiasts to discuss the issues that interest them. Few publications have such intimacy with its audience, connected via feedback comments and forums.

Content Editorial Guidelines

We’re thrilled you want to sponsor an article on DataWeb Africa and value your unique insights, reports, lessons learned and commentaries. Through our newsletters and portal, we can connect you with the growing community of innovators, entrepreneurs and thought leaders who rely on DataWeb Africa as their go-to resource for the latest news, trends and developments in disruptive technology.
We hope you’ve chosen to work with us because of our reputation for well-written, relevant and timely insights. Our goal is to help you engage our readers with content that meets the same editorial standards as the news and information on the rest of our site.

Here are a few guidelines:

Your piece should offer fresh, thoughtful research on product and services relevant to disruptive technology or design written by someone who has unique expertise or experience. The writing should be accessible, compelling and jargon-free.

Strive to inform and engage, but don’t advertise. Offering useful and actionable information in a lively and readable style will do far more to promote your brand than an old-fashioned marketing pitch. While it’s perfectly acceptable for you to mention your company’s work, try to broaden the focus to reference developments or trends happening in the industry and community. The more authentic and impartial your article, the more impact it will have.

Readers like engaging stories. Whenever possible, describe real people in real situations. Be specific. Offer details.

We like to keep articles 500 to 700 words or so—give or take. They should include links to topics, research and other specific items that you’re discussing. If you cite a study, for example, please include a link to it. Please include a brief bio and headshot for your bylined author, as well as any links to his or her work (Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn, personal blog, etc . Artwork: If you have photos or graphics you’d like included with your piece, please send them in separate files. We’ll do our best to include them, but can’t promise.

The Process

Before you begin your writing process, we’ll assign you an editor from our sponsored content team to offer you support, help you focus your article, ensure it meets our editorial standards, and help it shine on DataWeb Africa. When we receive your first draft, we’ll get back to you within a week with initial feedback and suggested edits. Sometimes it takes several drafts to get a piece just right.
